Orlando, FL, United States (4E) – One of the survivors of the mass shooting in Orlando last June was found dead at a party but his cause of death is still under investigation.

Chris Brodman was one of the fortunate people who were not killed at the Pulse nightclub terror attack on June 12 and has since been seen in news reports as he talked about the ordeal. Nine days after the Pulse night club attack, Brodman was featured after he got a tattoo as a tribute to the victims of the mass shooting. He shared during that time, “Last call. We went out to the patio to have a cigarette, and we were out there when the shots started to be fired. I said, ‘Run. Just run, run, run.’ And we all just ran out the bar.”

However, he was reportedly found dead early Sunday morning while attending a birthday party in the Tampa Bay area. His friends told authorities that he was found unconscious.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that they responded to a call about a man being unconscious at around 1:50 A.M. on Sunday. The sheriff’s office did not release Brodman’s name citing notification of his family but his friends confirmed that he was the one reported to the aforementioned sheriff’s office.

A friend of Brodman said that he was notified about his death via the boyfriend of the Pulse shooting survivor. The friend of Brodman added, “It was supposed to be a fun night. It’s unfortunate this had to happen to someone that is just so sweet and nice and didn’t deserve it, like anybody else.”

The boyfriend of Brodman took to Facebook to ask for donations for the funeral expenses of the Pulse shooting survivor.

Investigators are still investigating the cause of death but they did say that there were no signs of physical violence.
