Las Vegas, NV, United States (4E Sports) – The Las Vegas-based Westgate SuperBook has installed Alabama as an early favorite over Clemson in their national championship game rematch Jan. 9 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

The booksmaker placed the undefeated Crimson Tide as a touchdown favorite over Clemson after their 24-7 win over Washington in the Peach Bowl The Tigers, for their part, shut out Ohio State 31-0 in their Fiesta Bowl clash.

However, the Nick Saban-coached Alabama had dropped down to minus-6.5 at most sportsbooks .

In last year’s national final, Alabama beat Clemson 45-40 as a 6.5-point favorite.

Heading into the championship game, Alabama has been favored in 96 of its past 97 games.

The Crimson Tide were consensus one-point underdogs at Georgia on Oct. 3, 2015. They won that game 38-10. The over/under for the national championship game opened at 54.5.
