The Soynut Butter Co expands recall to Include Dixie U.S.A products because of possible health risk

Glenview, Ill., United States (4E) – The SoyNut Butter Co. is expanding its recall of I.M. Healthy Brand SoyNut Butter and granola products because they may be contaminated with Escherichia coli O157:H7 bacteria (E. Coli O157:H7).

E. coli O157:H7 causes a diarrheal illness often with bloody stools. The recalled Dixie U.S.A. product was only available for purchase via mail order or online portals.

Although most healthy adults can recover completely within a week, some people can develop a form of kidney failure called Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS). HUS is most likely to occur in young children and the elderly. The condition can lead to serious kidney failure and even death.
