IMUSA recalls Espresso Makers due to burn hazard

Doral, FL, United States (4E) – IMUSA has issued a recall of Espresso Makers due to a burn hazard

“The filler cap on the top of the unit can crack and pop off unexpectedly as a result of pressure buildup allowing steam to escape, posing a potential risk of burns to the user and bystander,” the firm said.

This recall involves IMUSA Espresso Maker. The black espresso maker has model number GAU-18200 with product date code “201407” to “201411” printed on a rating label affixed to the bottom of the espresso maker. The UPC is 94046182004.

The firm has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the Espresso Maker in Canada.

In the United States, the company, IMUSA USA LLC says there was only one report of minor burns including 43 incidents involving cap and steam escaping from the cap.

The affected products were sold from Dec. 19, 2013 to Dec. 1, 2016. The product was manufactured in China .

The firm is advising consumers to stop using the recalled espresso makers and contact the following contact information for a free replacement filler cap.
