Bronx, NY, United States (4E) – A former teacher at a Bronx high school was fired from her job for being impregnated by an 18-year-old student of hers and on Monday, she was found dead along with her four-year-old son believed to be that of the student.

The bodies of the teacher and the boy were found at an apartment in West 153rd Street in Harlem. It remains unclear when the two died as the investigation is still ongoing. The teacher was identified as 36-year-old Felicia Barahona . She was found in the living room of the home with an electrical cord wrapped around her neck. Her son, identified as Miguel, was found in the bath tub. The discovery was made at around 8:15 A.M. on Monday.

According to reports, officials were called at the apartment after another resident reported a foul odor coming from the home. Barahona was last seen alive last Wednesday. It remains unclear if the victims were dead due to foul play or if it is a murder-suicide case.

Barahona , an Afghanistan war vet, was a science teacher at DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx but was fired after it was discovered that she had a four-month affair with a student. The student and the teacher reportedly had sexual intercourse five times a week. Eventually, Barahona got pregnant and her 18-year-old lover accompanied her to her doctor’s check-ups.

The two broke up early 2012 due to an argument. Barahona believed that they would get married someday as she bought wedding rings for the both of them. The father of her baby has not yet released a statement about their death.
