Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Facebook co-founder recently made a joke regarding Nickelback and Avril Lavigne did not find it funny at all as she took to Twitter to defend the Canadian rock band.
Lavigne and Nickelback frontman , Chad Kroeger , split last year but it seems that the two still care for each other. Last Tuesday, Zuckerberg released a video on YouTube as he promoted his home A.I. assistant Jarvis. The product was voiced by Morgan Freeman. At one point in the video, the A.I. was seen helping Zuckerberg and the Facebook co-founder asked Jarvis to play some good Nickelback songs. Jarvis then replied, “I’m afraid I can’t do that. There are no good Nickelback songs.” Zuckerberg again took a jab at the rock band as he replied, “Good. That was actually a test. How about just play some songs that our whole family likes.”
Lavigne then said that people use Zuckerberg’s products and that some people love them while others don’t. However, she said that the musical opinion of Zuckerberg was made in poor taste. She pointed out that Zuckerberg has a voice and he should consider being more responsible if he promotes bullying. She used the following hashtags : “# SayNoToBullying # TheJokeIsOld #NickelbackHasSoldOver50MillionAlbums.” The tweet was liked more than 13,000 times and retweeted more than 6,000 times.
Zuckerberg has not yet commented on this. Kroeger or his band also have not yet commented on the matter.
Kroeger and Lavigne are no longer together romantically but they have reunited in the recording studio earlier this year.
