6 Notre Dame football players arrested in 2 days

South Bend, IN, United States (4E Sports) – Six Notre Dame football players were arrested in a span of two days, including starting safety Max Redfield.
Aside from Redfield, authorities also arrested redshirt freshman cornerback Ashton White, freshman wide receiver Kevin Stepherson , sophomore running back Dexter Williams and sophomore linebacker Te’von Coney.
Police made the arrest after finding a handgun and marijuana in the car when they stopped the players for speeding.
Police have filed charges of possession of marijuana against the five while Redfield, Stepherson and Williams were charged with possession of a handgun without a license. Possession of marijuana and possession of handgun are all misdemeanor charges.
Early Saturday, Notre Dame cornerback Devin Butler was arrested on preliminary charges of battery to law enforcement and resisting law enforcement.
According to Notre Dame vice president for public affairs and communications Paul Browne, the university will determine if it will impose additional sanctions against the six players.
